Oneechan
A manga reader for iPhone and iPad. It runs the extensions you choose right on the device, with no server and no companion app.
In development. Not on TestFlight or the App Store yet.
Features A whole library in your pocket
Oneechan is written in Swift and SwiftUI, with the system's own scrolling, gestures and text. It reads what your extensions find and keeps your library on your device.
Extensions
Add the repositories you choose, then install, update and configure extensions from them. Android extensions run unmodified, as APKs or JARs, inside the app.
Browse
Popular, latest and search with each source's filters, global search across sources, and saved searches. Local files work too: CBZ, ZIP, EPUB and folders of images.
Library
Categories you swipe between, sorting, filters and badges, bulk actions, notes, and migration from one source to another without losing your place.
Reader
Paged left to right, right to left or vertically, or one long webtoon strip. Zoom, tap zones, auto-scroll, and settings that remember each title.
Updates and downloads
Scheduled library updates with a notification for new chapters, and a download queue that keeps going in the background.
History and statistics
Everything you read, where you stopped, and how long you spent. Incognito mode pauses it all.
Trackers
MyAnimeList, Kitsu and MangaUpdates keep your progress in step, as do Komga, Kavita and Suwayomi servers.
Backups
Make and restore .tachibk backups by hand or on a schedule, and keep them in iCloud Drive if you like. Backups from other readers can be imported, .tmb files included.
iCloud sync
Off until you turn it on. Then your library, progress, categories, trackers and settings follow you between your iPhone and iPad.
iPhone and iPad
A sidebar and a two-column title page on iPad, with pointer hover and context menus.
Make it yours
Themes, alternate app icons, and ten languages, including English, Russian and German.
Private by design
No ads, no account, no analytics. Lock the app with Face ID, and hide it in the app switcher.
How it works Extensions, on the device
Manga reader extensions are written for Android. Oneechan runs them as they are, inside a Java virtual machine built into the app, so there is no server between you and the sites you read, and nothing to set up on a computer.
Oneechan ships with no extensions and no repositories. You add the ones you choose, and what you read through them is up to you and the sites they reach.
The extension runtime is open source under the MPL 2.0: the Kotlin host that loads extensions, and the build of the Eclipse OpenJ9 JVM that runs it on iOS.
Privacy Your library stays yours
Oneechan has no account, no analytics, no crash reporter and no advertising. It talks to the sites your extensions use and to the services you sign in to, and keeps everything else on your device.
Download Coming soon
Oneechan is in development and not yet on TestFlight or the App Store. It will need iOS 26 or later on iPhone or iPad.
